Jeffrey A. Leerink is the Chairman and CEO of Leerink Swann. Mr. Leerink founded the Firm in 1995 and under his leadership it has become the premier healthcare investment bank, providing investment banking, institutional sales and trading, equity research, and strategic consulting services for institutional and life sciences clients.
Outside of the Firm, Mr. Leerink is a member of the Board of Fellows of Harvard Medical School and serves on the Board of Directors of Humedica, Inc., a next generation clinical informatics company.
He also supports a number of charitable organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, where is he a member of its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer.
Mr. Leerink received his B.A. in Economics from Union College.

Daniel B. Dubin, M.DVice Chairman, Leerink Swann; Founder, MEDACorp

Daniel B. Dubin has been an advisor to institutional investors and corporate life sciences clients since 1996. Dr. Dubin is also a member of the Management Committee and Chair of the Commitment Committee at Leerink Swann.
He was an instructor in Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and has held staff appointments at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. While at Brigham and Women's Hospital, he served as Ambulatory Medical Director of Clinical Dermatology and as a member of the Clinical Executive Committee.
Dr. Dubin is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Medical School and completed both an internship in internal medicine and a residency in Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has published over 30 manuscripts in medical journals and textbooks and performed a NIH training fellowship at the Harvard Skin Disease Research Center. He serves as a Director of Leerink Swann and is the former Chairman of MetaWorks, Inc.

James BoylanSenior Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking

James (Jim) Boylan joined Leerink Swann in 2009 as a Senior Managing Director and the Head of Investment Banking. Mr. Boylan has 20+ years of experience in investment banking. Prior to joining Leerink, Jim was at Merrill Lynch & Co. for 12 years where he was a Managing Director in the healthcare group, covering pharma/biotech, healthcare services and leading the medical device franchise from 2004-2009. From 1997 to 2004, Mr. Boylan was a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions department at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he focused in healthcare and originated and led many transactions across sectors and structures. Prior to Merrill Lynch & Co., Jim was a Vice President in the healthcare group at Smith Barney.
Mr. Boylan’s deal experience includes more than 100 transactions where he has helped his clients complete the full cadre of M&A and financing transactions across the pharma/biotech, medical devices, healthcare services and diagnostics & life science tools sectors.
Mr. Boylan earned his MBA from Columbia University in 1994 and a BS from Lehigh University in 1989.

Joseph GentileChief Administrative Officer

Joseph Gentile joined the Firm in 2007 as Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Gentile was formerly CFO, Global Investment Bank at Lehman Brothers, where he directed the accounting and financial needs within the Fixed Income division, the largest operating division of Lehman Brothers.
Prior to that, he served as CFO of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank at Bank of America, where he led the Capital Markets Division. Previously, Mr. Gentile spent more than 10 years with J.P. Morgan in various financial management positions, including Global Head of Financial Risk Management. He holds a B.S. in accounting and MBA in finance from St. John's University.

Timothy A.G. GerholdGeneral Counsel

Timothy Gerhold joined the Firm in 2006 as its General Counsel and Senior Managing Director of the Compliance and Legal Group.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Gerhold was the General Counsel and Head of Compliance of BancBoston Capital, one of the largest bank-affiliated private equity groups in the United States. Before that, Mr. Gerhold held a number of positions in the Law Office of BankBoston Financial Corporation, including Group Head of the Capital Markets Group and Group Head of the Financial Services Group.
Previously, Mr. Gerhold practiced law at Goodwin Proctor LLP. Mr. Gerhold received his B.A. from Carleton College, and his J.D. from Yale Law School.

Robert LeerinkManaging Director, Head of Institutional Sales

Robert Leerink has been with Leerink Swann since its inception in 1995. He has been a Managing Director in Leerink Swann's Institutional Sales group since 2000.
Prior to joining Institutional Sales, Mr. Leerink led the Private Client Services group at Leerink Swann. He began his career in the private client services division of Fechtor Detwiler. Mr. Leerink holds a bachelor's degree from Babson College.

Mark RathjenManaging Director, Head of Institutional Trading
Mark Rathjen has been trading securities for over 15 years. Prior to joining Leerink Swann in 2005, Mr. Rathjen was VP Equities at Goldman Sachs. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Trading Desk Manager at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg Capital Markets. Mr. Rathjen began his career at NYSE specialist firm, Ernst Holmes. He holds a B.A. in Business from St. Bonaventure University.

John L. Sullivan is Director of Research at Leerink Swann and its Healthcare Investment Strategist. As a sector analyst, Mr. Sullivan recently ranked #3 in The Wall Street Journal’s 2008 “Best on the Street” analysts’ survey. As a stock picker in 2007, he earned a #2 ranking among the life sciences tools and services analysts ranked by Starmine in Forbes.com and a #3 ranking among the same group for accuracy of his earnings estimates.
Previously, Mr. Sullivan was a Vice President, Senior Equity Research Analyst, Life Sciences, at Stephens Inc. where his primary focus was on companies possessing enabling technologies for health care-related products for research and drug discovery. Mr. Sullivan, a Chartered Financial Analyst, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University and an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
