
Jeffrey A. Leerink founded Leerink Swann in 1995, creating the first independent healthcare research firm providing investors with direct access to analysts, physicians and medical professionals. In 1999, the firm ranked 30th in Inc. magazine's "America's 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies." Under Mr. Leerink's leadership, the firm has grown to become the premier healthcare investment bank, providing investment banking, institutional sales and trading, equity research, asset management and strategic advisory services for institutional, life sciences and high-net-worth clients. Every year since 2001, Institutional Investor has named Leerink Swann “Best of the Boutiques” in several healthcare categories.
Mr. Leerink sits on the Board of Directors of Humedica, Inc., a next generation clinical informatics company, and is a member of the Board of Fellows for Harvard Medical School. He also actively supports a number of charitable organizations and sits on the board of Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay. In addition, Mr. Leerink is a member of the International Game Fishing Association. Mr. Leerink formerly served as an Alumni Advisor to The Union College Board of Trustees. He was born in Massachusetts, and received his B.A. in Economics from Union College.

Daniel B. Dubin has been an advisor to institutional investors and corporate life sciences clients since 1996. Dr. Dubin is also a member of the Management Committee and Chair of the Commitment Committee at Leerink Swann. He was an instructor in Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and has held staff appointments at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. While at Brigham and Women's Hospital, he served as Ambulatory Medical Director of Clinical Dermatology and as a member of the Clinical Executive Committee.
Dr. Dubin is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Medical School and completed both an internship in internal medicine and a residency in Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has published over 30 manuscripts in medical journals and textbooks and performed a NIH training fellowship at the Harvard Skin Disease Research Center. He serves as a Director of Eleme Medical, a private cellulite treatment device company and is the former Chairman of MetaWorks, Inc.

James (Jim) Boylan joined Leerink Swann in 2009 as Senior Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking. Mr. Boylan brings 20 years of experience to the Firm. He built his investment banking career at Merrill Lynch over the past 12 years both as an M&A specialist and a healthcare origination banker with a focus on life sciences, medical device and healthcare services companies.
Mr. Boylan's deal resume includes more than 80 completed transactions where he helped clients complete the full spectrum of M&A and financing transactions. Recent notable transactions include advising Celgene on its acquisition of Pharmion and advising Lifecell on its sale to Kinetic Concepts.
Mr. Boylan earned his M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.S. from Lehigh University.

Joseph Gentile joined the Firm in 2007 as Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Gentile was formerly CFO, Global Investment Bank at Lehman Brothers, where he directed the accounting and financial needs within the Fixed Income division, the largest operating division of Lehman Brothers.
Prior to that, he served as CFO of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank at Bank of America, where he led the Capital Markets Division. Previously, Mr. Gentile spent more than 10 years with J.P. Morgan in various financial management positions, including Global Head of Financial Risk Management. He holds a B.S. in accounting and MBA in finance from St. John's University.

Timothy Gerhold joined the Firm in 2006 as its General Counsel and Senior Managing Director of the Compliance and Legal Group. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Gerhold was the General Counsel and Head of Compliance of BancBoston Capital, one of the largest bank-affiliated private equity groups in the United States. Before that, Mr. Gerhold held a number of positions in the Law Office of BankBoston Financial Corporation, including Group Head of the Capital Markets Group and Group Head of the Financial Services Group. Previously, Mr. Gerhold practiced law at Goodwin Proctor LLP. Mr. Gerhold received his B.A. from Carleton College, and his J.D. from Yale Law School.

Michael Jenkins joined the Firm in 2008. Prior to joining Leerink Swann, Mr. Jenkins was a Partner with Marakon Associates, where he served clients in healthcare and financial services for more than 15 years, and most recently led the firm’s private equity practice. He brings deep experience and expertise in corporate and business unit strategy development, strategy execution and performance delivery, acquisition evaluation and integration, and the design and delivery of initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
Mr. Jenkins holds a MBA in Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas, Austin.

John McPhee has been with Leerink Swann since its inception in 1995. In 2004, Mr. McPhee was named the Head of Private Client Service and in 2006 launched the Middle Market sales effort at Leerink Swann. Mr. McPhee is a Registered Securities Principal and a Registered Options Principal. He is a graduate of Bentley College with a B.S. in Finance.

Stephen Weiss's career in institutional equities spans more than 20 years and includes some of the most prestigious firms on Wall Street. Prior to joining the Firm, he was Co-Founder and Managing Member of Short Hills Capital Partners, LLC. For five years, he served as Managing Director and Head of U.S. Cash Sales for Lehman Brothers, where he led a 125-person team selling U.S. Research Product, as well as the distribution of non-dollar product in the U.S. Prior to that, Mr. Weiss was Global and U.S. Research Product Manager for Salomon Brothers, responsible for content, creativity and quality of product. Mr. Weiss began his career as an institutional salesperson for Oppenheimer & Company and later worked at Salomon Brothers. Mr. Weiss also worked in a senior management capacity at SAC Capital, LLC and was a tax attorney before entering the securities industry. Mr. Weiss recently used his extensive Wall Street experience to author the investment guide, The Billion Dollar Mistake: Learning the Art of Investing Through the Missteps of Legendary Investors.
