Job Title: 1rd Level IT Support Engineer
Reports to: IT Operations Manager
Department: IT
Location: Boston
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st level IT support to the Leerink Swann & Company Staff in the following areas:
- Troubleshooting End-User connectivity and application problems.
- Execute employee seat relocations.
- Execute computer and phone system deployment.
- Assist the End-Users with email delivery analysis and remediation.
- Perform routine printer and copier maintenance.
- Problem escalation.
- Augment the IT staff in the following areas:
- Participate routine system backup and tape management.
- Participate in data organization and data cleanup activities.
- Help maintain and organize the server rooms.
- Participate in software license compliance and computer system inventory.
- Regularly check PBX alarm status.
- Server log monitoring.
Specific Skills/Knowledge:
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking: specific to DDNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP
- Must have a programming skills in one of the following areas:
- Norton Ghost administration.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- 4 year College Degree or equivalent.
- At least 1 year experience in help desk support.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with any of the following: .Net, SQLserver, Linux, or Perl, a plus.
- Hands-on with Active Directory and Exchange in Windows 2003 environment desired.
- The necessary small company willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. This position requires 40+ hours per week.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- No relocation is available for this position
