Job Title: Scientific Research Associate

MEDACorp is a division of Leerink Swann LLC that provides biomedical consulting services to Life Sciences companies and their investors. Through its internal team of experts and dedicated external network of academic and community healthcare professionals, MEDACorp assesses the viability of cutting-edge medical technologies, thus giving decision makers the information they need to perform.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing research efforts via monitoring of emerging data at scientific meetings, conversations with external consultants and review of the primary literature to identify business opportunities for the Firm
- Assist the Chief Scientific Officer and members of Corporate Finance in opportunity assessment of companies identified by the Firm as potential business opportunities
- Meet with companies, projecting content brand, and work with the Corporate Finance team to maintain relationships with key companies in selected areas within healthcare
- Cover regulatory events and themes of importance to investors by reviewing the regulatory calendar and managing relationship with the Leerink Swann Regulatory Board. This includes planning appropriate events and written pieces, assisting in answering regulatory inquiries from clients and incorporating regulatory panel discussions into the Firm’s Roundtable events
- Moderate group calls with consultants and investors and write innovative healthcare thought pieces to support the Firm’s initiatives
- Build influence and interact with buy side investors and venture capital clients via meetings and phone calls reviewing MEDACorp research and relevant healthcare topics
- Assist with interviewing, recruitment, hiring, training, development and productivity of new and existing team members and foster a strong, productive team environment
- Work closely with the internal MEDACorp project team as well as external departments to provide regular two-way communication between clients and teams
- Contribute to internal process and technology improvement projects
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree required
- Prior experience in financial services and/or market research required
- Clinical and/or research experience in areas complementary to those of the Chief Scientific Officer are required. Possibilities include oncology, gastroenterology, cardiology, surgery, orthopedics, diagnostics, tools or services
- Ability to lead and manage small working teams of research associates and market researchers
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and technical writing skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform in a highly ethical way within regulatory, confidentiality and conflict management environments
