MEDACorp is a division of Leerink Swann LLC that provides biomedical consulting services to Life Sciences companies and their investors. Through its internal team of experts and its dedicated external network of academic and community healthcare professionals, MEDACorp assesses the viability of cutting-edge medical technologies, thus giving decision makers the information they need to perform.
The Operations Director requires a healthcare focused, client-facing manager to serve as the primary manager in reviewing and managing MEDACorp’s day to day operations including management and supervision of the consultant liaison and market research staff. In addition, a key requirement is monitoring the monthly budgeting, forecasting expense and revenue trends, and overseeing all client interactions (internal and external) in their use of MEDACorp services. The ideal candidate will be motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, work and implement product-focused directives with other senior department leaders
- Work with MEDACorp Managing Director to help create and execute MEDACorp’s strategic goals
- Be aware and in pursuit of opportunities for business growth including new business and enhanced cultivation of the MEDACorp network as follows:
- Development of pricing model
- New product development
- Enhancement of market research including outsourcing
- Oversee and manage the network of external consultants
- Act as primary point person for all internal and external clients issues; review all major deliverables to ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are being met
- Approve and manage all budgetary issues and forecast trends for MEDACorp business lines
- Work closely with the project teams and provide regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and delivery of client expectations
- Manage the consultant liaison and market research staff day to day including: client communications (internal and external), high level decision making, conflict resolution and compliance on client deliverables and revenue review.
- Interview, recruit and hire new staff as necessary; manage team compensation.
- Assist in building an IT plan in line with greater knowledge automation
- Leverage the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- BA/BS required. MBA, MD or PhD or related higher degree is preferred
- 2-3 yrs experience with healthcare/life sciences or financial services
- At least 5 years experience in managing and supervising large staff
- Prior experience managing, building and recruiting network of consultants is strongly
- Past budgeting and business plan organization experience
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Technical competence (understands software, hardware, networks etc.)
- Strong communication skills and initiative
- Keen attention to detail
- Use of discretion with respect to privileged information
