Douglas R. Martin, MDManaging Director


Douglas R. Martin, MD, Managing Director, has been a consultant to leading life sciences corporations and their investors since 1998. Since joining Leerink Swann Consulting, he has participated in over 240 engagements covering virtually every therapeutic area and comprising numerous sectors of healthcare and the life sciences, with particular emphasis on growth strategy issues faced by biopharmaceutical and medical device companies, from privately held companies and investors to multinational entities. He began his consulting career at McKinsey & Company, where he primarily focused on building new business and corporate-wide strategic issues for Fortune 500 and new-economy healthcare clients. Prior to joining McKinsey, Dr. Martin completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, served as a teaching fellow at Harvard Medical School, and was elected Chief Resident at the West Roxbury VA Hospital, one of the program’s two base hospitals. He is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and completed his undergraduate degree with Great Distinction at McGill University in Montreal, where he was named University Scholar.

Peter LangManaging Director


Peter Lang, Managing Director, has over 18 years of consulting and industry experience working with life sciences clients. He has deep expertise in the areas of commercial strategy development, market entry planning, product launch and competitive intelligence across numerous therapeutic categories, companion diagnostic and medical devices. At Leerink, Peter has been focused on developing organic and inorganic growth strategies, assessing market opportunities and evaluating new product concepts within Oncology, CNS and Ophthalmology. Peter is a published author and has presented on the topic of strategic brand planning at industry conferences. Prior to joining Leerink Swann, Peter was a Principal at Archstone Consulting and a Director of Channel Sales at Masimo. Peter was also a Clinical Trials Manager at Vital Insite and a Software Engineer at Siemens Medical Systems. Mr. Lang received a Master of Applied Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering, also from the University of Toronto.
