Leerink Swann Consulting (LSC) offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to develop both deep expertise in the life sciences and a broad professional toolkit in a fast paced, exciting environment. Our group is comprised of medical doctors (MDs), PhDs, MBAs and veteran consultants who have significant breadth and depth of relevant and practical clinical and commercial experience.
LSC projects are highly collaborative, allowing our teams to learn not only from our experienced senior staff but our clients as well. Project teams are composed of staff from four employee roles, each offering different skills and responsibilities to create superior results for our clients. We promote between levels commensurate with demonstrated capabilities and contributions across a well-defined spectrum of developmental goals. Analyst
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive project work streams under the guidance of other team members
- Conduct interviews with clinical and scientific thought leaders
- Lead analysis of such issues as product sales and prescription trends, company pipelines, regulatory guidelines, clinical trial design, reimbursement policies, treatment guidelines, and epidemiologic data
- Build financial forecasts for product assessments
- Travel with the team to client meetings and present team findings during presentations
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors or master’s degree in life sciences or related fields
- Scientific and/or healthcare experience a plus but not required
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Superior problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-starter, with a team-oriented attitude
Associate
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in projects that have significant impact on leading and emerging life sciences companies
- Develop core consulting capabilities, including primary research, analysis, problem-solving, forecasting, synthesis, and deliverable creation
- Interact with and present findings to senior client executives
- Advance strategic recommendations to support decisions in such areas as M&A, clinical development, discovery, and product commercialization
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Advanced degree(s) in life sciences such as a Ph.D. or an M.D., or an MBA with a demonstrated focus in life sciences either through coursework, undergraduate studies, or operational experience
- Prior experience at pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies and/or consulting firms a plus but not required
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Professional presence
- Superior problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-starter, with a team-oriented attitude
Manager
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead projects that have significant impact on mature and emerging life sciences companies
- Advance strategic recommendations to support decisions in such areas as M&A, clinical development, discovery, and product commercialization
- Develop client relationships through project management and presentations to senior executives
- Identify and realize business development opportunities
- Demonstrate and teach team members core consulting capabilities, including primary research, analysis, problem-solving, forecasting, synthesis, and deliverable creation
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Project management experience at consulting firms required, encompassing both generalist consulting firms (with a project focus in the life sciences) or life science boutique firms
- Advanced degree(s) in life sciences preferred, such as a Ph.D. or an M.D., or an MBA with a demonstrated focus in life sciences either through studies, consulting experience, or operational experience
- Professional presence and ability to develop client relationships
- Superior problem-solving capabilities, written and oral communication skills, and organizational and time management skills
- Self-starter, with a team-oriented attitude
Senior Management
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage business development opportunities and directing project proposal creation
- Guide project teams in their analysis to meet client needs
- Contribute to firm leadership and mentoring junior staff
- Develop intellectual capital and proprietary thinking that builds firm brand and eminence
Experience and Qualifications Required:
