LEERINK SWANN ANALYSTS RANKED “WORLD’S TOP ANALYSTS” BY FINANCIAL TIMES SPECIAL REPORT

BOSTON, Mass.—May 21, 2008—Leerink Swann, the leading healthcare investment banking firm, today announced that several of its analysts have been recognized in the Financial Times’ “World’s Top Analysts” special report, the publication’s first annual awards for the recognition of the top equity analysts and brokerage firms around the world. Leerink Swann analyst Bruce Cranna was ranked as the first top earnings estimator for the healthcare equipment & supplies industry, and Seamus Fernandez was acknowledged as the second-ranked stock picker for the pharmaceutical sector and analyst.

“We congratulate Seamus and Bruce on receiving these outstanding accolades,” said Jeffrey A. Leerink, Chairman and CEO of Leerink Swann. “Their recognition by the Financial Times signifies the value of Leerink Swann’s deep domain knowledge of the healthcare industry and the ability of our analysts to provide our clients with the consistent insights and perspectives needed to make well-informed investment decisions.”

The Financial Times, in collaboration with StarMine, objectively compiled the “World’s Top Analysts” rankings by measuring the performance of analysts based on the returns on their buy/sell recommendations and the accuracy of their earnings estimates during the 2007 calendar-year.

Earlier this week, Cranna, along with fellow Leerink Swann analysts John Sullivan and Joseph Schwartz, was also recognized in the Wall Street Journal’s 2008 “Best on the Street” rankings.
