Leerink Swann's Seamus Fernandez Named Best "Up and Comer" in Institutional Investors 2007 All-America Research Team Survey
Boston, MA - October 31, 2007 - Leerink Swann announced that equity research analyst Seamus Fernandez was named Best "Up and Comer" in Pharmaceuticals, Major by Institutional Investor as part of the magazine's 2007 All-America Research Team survey.

The All-America Research Team surveys 2,600 investors and portfolio managers at more than 810 buy-side firms. The "Up and Comer" honor recognizes Fernandez as a rising star of Wall Street who has covered his industry sector for less than three years. Nominations for the "Up and Comer" honor were submitted by a write-in vote. Fernandez was the only such analyst recognized in healthcare in the 2007 competition.
This is the latest honor bestowed upon the Boston-based healthcare investment banking firm by Institutional Investor. Leerink Swann has been selected as "Best of the Boutiques" in multiple healthcare categories for the past six years.
Fernandez joined Leerink Swann to expand the Major Pharmaceuticals team in 2006. Before that, he spent seven years as an analyst at other sell-side and consulting firms. He began his career in the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Neurosurgery.
