Leerink Swann Appoints Joshua Schimmer, M.D. as Biotechnology Analyst
Boston, MA – June 16, 2009 - Healthcare investment bank Leerink Swann announced that Joshua Schimmer, M.D. has joined the firm as Managing Director, Biotechnology Analyst. Dr. Schimmer will cover mid- and large-cap biotechnology companies for the Firm.
Prior to joining Leerink Swann, Dr. Schimmer was a Managing Director for FTN Equity Capital Markets Corp., where he covered mid- and large-cap biotech companies. Prior to FTN, Dr. Schimmer served as Healthcare Equities Analyst for buy-side firm, Davidson Kempner Capital Management, LLC. He previously was a senior analyst in Biotechnology for Cowen & Company, and began his career in biotechnology equity research at Deutsche Bank Securities.
Dr. Schimmer holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Toronto and a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard University. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Toronto, as well as a fellowship in Rheumatology, where he was Chief Fellow.
